Approach
The 3-year-old program uses a play-based approach with monthly thematic units covering colors, shapes, the numbers one through ten, seasons, and holidays, plus arts and crafts, cooking projects, story time, library visits, and indoor and outdoor gross-motor play.
Pre-K curriculum
Universal Pre-K focuses on kindergarten readiness and early literacy, with learning through music, exercise, arts and crafts, computers, and field trips, plus a mid-year parent-teacher conference with an individual evaluation and a graduation ceremony in June.
Setting
A nonprofit preschool incorporated in 1967 and chartered by the State of New York in 1968, run by a volunteer board of directors, with an open admissions policy welcoming children regardless of race, color, religion, and national or ethnic origin.
Location
Based in Montgomery, NY 12549, in Orange County. The school runs a main building plus an annex added in 2002 in the Presbyterian Church on Clinton Street across the street, which houses the three-year-old and Mommy & Me classes, so confirm the specific building for your child's class when you enroll.
